Information
General
1. The League is open to any player or team.
- Division 1 has no grade limit.
- Division 2 is limited to players with a maximum grade of 175.
- Division 3 is limited to players with a maximum grade of 145.
- Players are eligible for Division 2 or 3 if their grade does not exceed the maximum in either the July 2014 or January 2015 ECF grading list.
2. Each team consists of 5 players in Divisions 1 and 2, and 4 players in Division 3.
3. All matches will be played within Zone 1 of the London Underground, either at the Pimlico venue (St Saviour's Church Hall, St George's Square, Lupus Street, London SW1) or at each team's home venue.
4. Players may play for different clubs in different divisions, but may not play for two or more clubs in the same division.
Before
5. Some teams operate from secure premises. They will need a list of visiting players at least two days before the match. In the interest of fairness, they will send their own team list in return. Visitors will be asked for ID on arrival at the venue.
During
6. For matches at the Pimlico venue, it is the responsibility of the home team to set up the boards in time for the start of play.
7. The team winning the toss has White on odd boards.
8. Matches start at 6.30pm.
9. Absent players will be defaulted at 7.30pm.
10. The time control will be a Fischer time control of all moves in 75 minutes plus 15 seconds a move.
11. If suitable digital clocks are not available at any particular venue (currently only Railsport and Shell), the time control will be 30 moves in 75 minutes then all remaining moves in a further 15 minutes.
12. Mobile phones should be silenced or turned off for the duration of the playing session. If a player's mobile phone rings during play, he should be asked to silence it or turn it off. If it happens again, he loses the game by default.
After
13. Each captain will send a match report to the League Administrator after the match, showing the names, grades and result on each board.
14. All games will be submitted for ECF grading.
